A prediction game for TV fanatics.
Aura was an experimental app we hacked on towards the end of 2025. We wanted to experiment with prediction markets, and chose to start with pop culture being our starting wedge. Rather than racing to implementing real money, we decided to get started with "Aura" — our fun, virtual play money that powered the app. We found that this strategy helped us onboard an entirely new audience of users — pop culture fanatics that wanted to make predictions amongst their friends as they watched their favorite TV shows.
For the finale of Survivor's 49th season, we partnered with Fruity Island, a watch party in Brooklyn, NY. We were able to onboard the entire live audience, and used Aura to increase the intensity and fun of the night.
